Week 8-Google Documents
Okay, I went a little bit out of order but I finally got a chance to look at Google Documents--what a cool concept. I really enjoyed reading the examples of how other folks use the application-what good ideas! The next time I need to collaborate on something I think I will give it a try.

Week 9-Podcasts
Did a little looking around at podcasts--Colonial Williamsburg uses them on their site quite nicely I thought. Also, found an interesting site www.museumpods.com that I thought might be of interest to some of you.

Week 7-Wiki
Now that the board meeting is over I have finally had a chance to look around the VHS wiki. I think this is a great tool to facilitate sharing information. I especially like the VHS Style and Usage Guide--no more sleepless nights wondering commonwealth or Commonwealth! :-)

Week 6-Social Networking
I have created accounts on Facebook and Myspace. I haven't done much with them yet but they are there. It's an interesting world out there. Will write more as I explore further!

Week 5
I did a little searching around on Delicious.com--I like the concept of being able to access your bookmarks from anywhere. That said, I am not sure that I would find it enough of a "benefit" to create yet another account, username, password, etc. Eeegggadds-how do people keep up with all of these?
Week 4-Fun Stuff
I looked at several of the sites including Generator Blog, Letter James, and livemocha.com. Some cool things and I will definitely come back to some of these when I have more time. My favorite, favorite thing of this week was discovering LibraryThing. I am a huge reader and am always on the lookout for new authors, books, etc. This is one that is already in my "favorites"--love it, love it!
Week 3: RSS and Newsreaders
Okay, I am trying desperately to make up for lost time here. Using Bloglines, I set up some feeds. I am a huge "food nerd" so I am following a lot of food sites/blogs but also am following some movie blogs. This is definitely a useful tool to keep up with things that specifically are of interest to you.

Flickr
I took the tour on the Flickr site-I thought it was a really cool site and I hope to find time to create my own account and try playing around with it further. I browed the collections from the Library of Virginia and Library of Congress-I think it's great exposure for the collections and I would love to see some of the Society's photos on the site.
